{ Dorian Varnell
And Some Folklore.
THE BASICS!

FULL NAME: Dorian Jonathon Varnell
NICKNAMES: None
AGE & DOB: Oct. 7th
SEXUALITY: Bisexual
APPEARANCE!

Occasionally scruffy but mostly well kept in appearance. He will wear suits for work but they always tend to end up rumbled and with the sleeves rolled up by the end of the day. Sometimes he'll even take his tie off just because it bugs him. His eyes are a soft green and his hair is a dark brown, very soft and fluffy.

Outside of work it's usually t-shirts and jeans. He does have a fondness for pop culture t-shirts or ones with silly visual puns. He has a few tattoos scattered around on his arms in Celtic style representing various creatures from folklore that he likes. His most prominent tattoo takes up his right forearm and it is a black dog with bright red eyes representing the black dog of folklore that either protects spirits or can be seen as an ill omen of death or bad luck.

PERSONALITY!

He's open and friendly, laughs easily and doesn't mind meeting new people. He handles most serious situations with a joke unless someone is truly offensive and then he'll put his foot down and take them apart with sharp words and a few punches if needed.

He is whip smart and a good listener. He likes to learn new things and explore the world around him. Dorian has no fear of going up to strangers and asking them about their life story or if they want to share something of their culture with him he's down for it. He loves to travel and tries not to go to the same place twice. Off the beaten path is his favorite place to go wherever he travels.

When things get too stressful he will retreat into himself and spend a long time alone until he feels recharged.

BIOGRAPHY!

His love of stories and folklore came from his grandfather who would tell him spooky stories when he came to visit during the holidays. Dorian was a bookworm growing up but for horror stories and weird creatures, anything spooky and so he cultivated that love into an appreciation of folklore and actual stories from history.

Even though he was a bookworm Dorian was well liked by his fellow students and had plenty of friends growing up. He flitted from social circle to different social circle with ease and was just a really great friend to many different people. He played football (soccer) all the way from primary school to Univserity and still plays to this day with a local community team. He is passionate about his favorite team and has season tickets.

After studying for years in University he became a teacher for mythology and folklore. It was there he met his best friend in the whole world, Amalia Armitage. They are well known around campus for spending much of their free time together. While there are rumors they're lovers, none of that is true. They're just friends.

Dorian has spent most of his life single, never staying with anyone long. He is one of the teachers students often develope crushes on and rate highly on those rate my professor websites. He's the sort of teacher who will take his class outside on beautiful days and once even took a class to a pub on a day when only a handful of students showed up.

Yet, he's not alone. He has a younger sister who is married and has kids. He spends time with them as well. He also has a popular podcast about creatures from folklore and mythology and occasionally does live shows around London. He is working on writing his first book about mythological creature archetypes and their cultural meanings.

At home, he has three dogs that he rescued. There's Ethos who is a small terrier mix, Pathos who is a big fuzzy possibly St. Bernard cross, and Logos who is a border collie. He spoils these dogs and will occasionally bring them to class with him.
